History
The institution has been established by Baba Jiwan Singh Baba Dalip Singh Education Trust Regd. (H.O.) Tarn Taran, formed by Baba Jagtar Singh Ji .This Kar Sewa Mission was started by Baba Gurmukh Singh Baba Sadhu Singh Ji
Education is the light that dispels the darkness in human mind & enlighten it. As food sustains the body, Education sustains the vision of the human mind. It is the light of education which enables one to see clearly the real goal of life & the path to be trodden to reach that goal. Eduation is the birth right of every child irrespective of caste, creed or colour rich or poor. With this aim Sant Baba Jagtar Singh Ji has set up this Education Trust to make for standard education facilities by establishing education centres /academies especially in rural & far flung areas with complete infrastructure. The purpose behind is to provide quality education at the door step of every village of the district at a very nominal cost.
School Campus
Guru Nanak Dev Academy is located on Chabal Road, Village Noordi, Tarn Taran. Spread over an area of 5 Acres. Surrounded by lush green fields, away from the noise and pollution of a city. The Academy was started in April 2003 with just eight rooms and 201 students. Today it boasts of three storeyed building with 56 rooms and more than 2000 students on its roll from Primary to Sr. Seconday level. The Academy was granted Affiliation by C.B.S.E in 2008 upto 10th class and upgraded to 10+2 level in August 2011 in Arts, Commerce, Medical, and Non-Medical Streams.
It is a co-educational English Medium School where the focus is on the holistic development of the child, including the religious, spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional and physical development, based on the teachings of the Sikh Gurus and the Indian Culture and traditions.
